"Mouth to mouth" !

While we were at the University of Ibadan studying Theatre Arts, there were these two colleagues of ours that were specialising in Theatre publicity and Marketing. At every play review, they would report on their use of different publicity / marketing stunts and then add " we did not forget to use the "mouth-to-mouth method" ! They were , of course, not referring to the resuscitation procedure but to the one-tell-one method of information dispersal.

Internet marketing generally, and Viral Marketing in particular, thrive on this procedure. The big advantage of using the method on the internet is that, with the power of technology, you can establish excactly who told who so as to collate any remunerations due. Other advantages include that (i) where someone has been commissioned to do the job, it can be ascertained in definite terms that he actually told others and (ii) even while the information is travelling from person to person, it hardly suffers any distortions.
